Maritime tops in tachos

Maritime Transport, has won The Freight Transport Association's Tacho Compliance Award in recognition of improvement in standards relating to drivers’ hours legislation. The award was given to the Company’s Liverpool Depot.

“We are delighted to receive this award from the FTA”, said Dave Boomer, Operation Director, Maritime Transport. “It recognises the very hard work and effort we put into driver compliance and in particular, the improvements achieved at our depot in Liverpool”.

Maritime has worked very closely with the FTA to develop the management of driver tachograph infringements. Today, with a completely digital tachograph fleet, drivers download their cards on a weekly basis and management information is available almost immediately to review and take action where required.

In addition, the suite of management reports provided by the FTA is tailored to Maritime’s needs and enables managers to quickly identify any driver training requirements.

“With a large fleet of owned vehicles, compliance has to be an integral part of everything we do at Maritime. The FTA, through their Tacho Analysis Service, plays an important role in ensuring that our drivers work within the drivers’ hours legislation at all times,” said Dave Boomer.
