New depot at Teesport
Maritime Transport Limited (MTL), one of the UK’s leading container transport companies, has opened a new depot at Teesport to service the growing container traffic volumes moving through the North Eastern port.
MTL commenced operations on Monday 6th. September with an initial fleet of 5 vehicles, strategically positioned within the port of Teesport. The Teesport depot will service both deep-sea and feeder traffic through the Port as well as container traffic to and from the North East Region.
The Company’s decision to extend its UK depot network to nine locations, only months after it established a new facility at Liverpool, will create 8 new jobs at the outset.
Commenting on Maritime Transport’s latest expansion, John Williams, Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to announce the opening of our depot at Teesport. Teesport is an excellent deepwater container port. Its container traffic has grown significantly over recent years and with the 2003 opening of its’ second terminal is quickly establishing itself as a very important hub for container traffic in the North East of the UK. ”
