Maritime chooses Hill Hire

In a major review of the Company’s trailer requirements, Maritime Transport Ltd. has appointed Hill Hire the sole supplier of its trailer fleet.

Hill Hire will supply 300 new sliding skeletal trailers on a five-year contract to the Company’s own specification. The deal includes tyres and maintenance. Any additional trailer requirements will be handled on a spot hire basis, again through Hill Hire.

The specification includes LED lights, EBS and Safety Stop reversing alarm, improving the safety features. The 300 trailers on contract will be supplied in Maritime livery. Irish-based, trailer manufacturers Dennison and SDC are building the trailers.

As part of the new arrangement, Hill Hire will also provide a member of staff to work alongside the fleet department to manage the trailer fleet and coordinate maintenance and service scheduling.

According to Fleet General Manager, Derek Daly, “This is a significant refleeting deal, providing Maritime with the most modern trailer fleet in the UK today. We chose Hill Hire as our preferred national trailer supplier because of their ability to meet our rigorous requirements on quality and service and to flex with the Company as we continue expand”.
