Maritime Leeds the way

Maritime Transport, one of the UK’s leading container transport companies, is opening a new depot in Leeds. The new facility will open on Monday 17th. October. Located in Garforth, the new depot will service container traffic to and from the deep sea and feeder container ports and the Yorkshire area. The site is fully enclosed and protected by CCTV with parking for up to 20 vehicles.

The addition of the Leeds depot will extend Maritime’s UK network to ten locations and will create up to 10 new jobs initially. Maritime will introduce six brand new DAF XF95 Superspace 480hp vehicles into the Leeds based fleet at the outset.

Paul Heyhoe has been appointed Depot Manager. Paul has worked for Maritime for a number of years, based at the Company’s Manchester depot and has a wealth of experience in transport operations, having previously worked for Eddie Stobart.

“We believe there is a strategic benefit to have a base at Leeds to meet existing customer requirements”, said Simon Smart, Operations Director. “We are starting with a small team, which will quickly expand to service the substantial container volumes to and from the region”.

Based at Felixstowe, Maritime Transport operates a national network of ten depots based at prime locations in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Southampton, Teesport, Thamesport and Tilbury (London).
