| Tank Container | A tank, surrounded by a framework with the overall dimensions of a container for the transport of bulk liquids or gasses. |
| Tare Weight | Weight of an empty container. |
| Terminal Handling Charge | The charge levied by a port or terminal for the positioning of containers within the terminal/yard. Abbreviated: THC. |
| TEU | See 'Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit' |
| THC | See 'Terminal Handling Charge' |
| Tipping Trailer | A trailer with a tipping ram which is hydraulically operated to raise the front end of the container to discharge product. |
| Tremcard | A tremcard is a 'transport emergency card' which gives detailed written instructions to the driver in the event that a dangerous goods load is involved in an accident. |
| Truckpol | National intelligence Police unit which collates statistical data and intelligence on UK road freight crime. |
| Truckwatch | A joint initiative by the FTA, RHA and Police to cirulate details of stolen goods vehicles to members to assist in their recovery. |
| Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit | Unit of measurement equivalent to one twenty foot shipping container. Abbreviated: TEU. |
| Twist Lock | A device used to secure a freight container to a trailer. |
